Alexandria, Va. — Marshall Stevens, A.A.E., Vice President, Operations, & Chief Operating Officer at the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, took office May 5 as Chair of the American Association of Airport Executives (��ԭ��) for 2026-2027. Founded in 1928, ��ԭ�� is the world’s largest professional organization representing individuals who work at public-use commercial and general aviation airports. Other key appointments to the Association’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and Policy Review Council were also finalized during the 98th Annual ��ԭ�� Conference & Exposition in Los Angeles, held May 3-5 and hosted by Los Angeles World Airports.

Alexandria, Va. — Rebecca Hupp, A.A.E., Airport Director, Boise Airport, took office June 10 as Chair of the American Association of Airport Executives (��ԭ��) for 2025-2026. Founded in 1928, ��ԭ�� is the world’s largest professional organization representing individuals who work at public-use commercial and general aviation airports. Other key appointments to the Association’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and Policy Review Council were also finalized during the 97^th Annual ��ԭ�� Conference & Exposition in Atlanta, held June 8-10 and hosted by Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Alexandria, Va. – The American Association of Airport Executives (��ԭ��), in collaboration with its exclusive partner Blank Slate Technologies, announces an agreement with Signature Aviation to adopt the Blank Slate mobile app as a core platform for recurrent and supplemental training in operations, safety, and compliance across its global workforce of 6,000 frontline employees.

The innovative Blank Slate app leverages artificial intelligence and cognitive science to transform mandatory training, policies, and regulatory content into brief, customized exam questions tailored to each employee. This progressive approach ensures maximum knowledge retention while requiring minimal time investment, addressing the unique needs of busy aviation professionals operating in a high-stakes, zero-fail environment.

A pilot program deploying the Blank Slate app across multiple Signature Aviation locations worldwide demonstrated measurable improvements in employees’ ability to recall critical training content and policies in less than 90 days. IAAE Launches a Major Global Initiative on Airport Management Competency Building

Alexandria, Va. — The International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE), the international arm of the American Association of Airport Executives (��ԭ��), announced the launch of its Competency Building Services Program (CBSP), a new initiative offered globally to airport enterprises, in partnership with the Aviation Strategies International Institute (ASI-I).

The CBSP addresses organization-specific competency development of airport enterprises in the context of the challenges posed by the anticipated global traffic growth and industry turbulence. The services comprise managerial competency gap analysis using the global Airport Management Competency Assessment Test (AMCAT), delivery of customized competency-based workshops, courses and certificates in response to priority needs of enterprises, as well as best practices implementation coaching.
